Well the guys from the Righteous Rodders are kicking it into "high gear" making preparations for the 17th Annual Wilbur Wright Birthplace Festival. Last year, a buddy and fellow Righteous Rodder got the car and truck show started back up at the Festival after it had been dropped several years prior. I helped him with the show and we had about 35 vehicles.
This year, our newly formed car club will be hosting the event. We've done a much better job of "getting the word out" through traditional advertisements, internet sites like Hubgarage, Motortopia, and Hemming News, as well as through word of mouth and flyers at many area events. We also have a lot of kool stuff in the works for those who attend.
One club member is working on kustom hotwheels that will be part of the goody bags for the first 50 registered. We are also getting several donates that will be given away as door prizes, including autographed shirts that Chris Jacobs, host of TLC's "Overhaulin'" actually wore on the show! Another member of our club that has a chrome-plating biz is working on some kustom trophies as well.
I should also give a Suede and Chrome "shout out" to Vinylynn from whiteline designs @ http://www.whitelinedesign.com/. She has been working hard on several things for our club and the show, including the cool event tee-shirts (see logo above), club decals, a club banner, and card stock backs for the custom hot wheels....THANKS Lynn!!!! You rock!
I would love to see any Suede and Chrome readers that are in the area on June 20th to make it out to our show at the Wilbur Wright Birthplace. If you are there, make sure you come up and introduce yourself!
