Rock Island Post #6

Well, here is a few more pictures from the Rock Island Show in Illinois.

I'm looking forward to next weekend, as my wife and I will be traveling north to the Detroit Autorama.

Sounds like a lot of guys from the Hubgarage are planning to be at the show as well.

I was a bit disappointed at the Indy World of Wheels as we did not get to meet Chris Jacobs (of Overhaulin' fame). He will be at the Cobo Center in Detroit though. Sounds like there will be a Hubgarage booth, so we are looking forward to meeting several "hubheads".

Rock Island Show Post #3

Well, we all got to go sometime....why not go out in style?

Yeah....I know, a lot of Muscle cars and very few traditional hotrods. But I don't think you can argue...these cars are hot!

Alright....here is a nice traditional rod!

Rock Island Show Post #2

Well, I guess I need to find out a bit more about this show from the friends that gave me the pictures. All I know at this point is the show was a few weeks ago in Illinois. My chrome plating buddy went to the show to set up a booth in the vendor area.

They came back with some 90+ photographs of some very kool cars and bikes. Looks like a lot of trailer queens, but very sic none the less. I am really 'diggin' this convertible robin egg blue Chevrolet!

Looking through the photographs, there appears to be a little something for everyone. Chevys, Fords, Buicks, Mopars, Motorcycles, Rats....LOTS of pictures in the coming days on my "Countdown to Cobo".

Rock Island 2009 Post #1

Well, I have no plans for attending any shows until the Detroit Autorama on the first weekend in March. However, that won't stop me from making updates to Suede and Chrome as I have some 90+ photographs recently taken by some friends when they set up a booth at the Rock Island, Illinois show. I'm thinking that I've got enough stuff to last through the end of February, which will lead right into my pictures from what has become an annual trip to the Cobo Center for my wife and I.

I'm having a little trouble uploading the pictures because they were taken at a high resolution. I'm trying a couple of different options. Tonight, I reduced the size, but that didn't seem to help. Tomorrow, I'll try to manipulate them in Photodeluxe.

Last of the Pictures from 2009 Indy Autorama

Well, this is it.....the end of the pictures from the 2009 Indianapolis Autorama...(sorry, I'm not really into the lowrider mini truck or lifted 4x4 scene. So even though the Autorama had something for everyone, I didn't take any shots of these vehicles.)

I did however take a shot of this VW "mini" bus just for fun. Rumor has it the youngest child of the Custom Metal Finishers family wants a minivan when he turns 16....Jake, this one's for you!

Come back tomorrow, as I will begin posting sets of pictures taken last month at the Rock Island Car Show in Illinois. My friends from Custom Metal Finishers set up a booth there and took a whole LOT of photos for me. Even though this blog is dedicated to traditional hotrods, there will be lots of Muscle Cars mixed in too in the days to come!

1960 AMC Wagon...

O.k....maybe it's because I have a lot of kids, but I think old station wagons can make some pretty kool kruisers. I ran across this 1960 AMC wagon on eBay this afternoon. The car is located in Dayton, Ohio and has a buy it now price of $3,000.
