8th Annual Blanket Run: John Lawson Stop
The second stop on this year's Blanket Run was the shop of John Lawson. John is the son of the late Joe Lawson, Indy car mechanic and metal fabricator, whom also worked with Mickey Thompson in the 60's . John like his father enjoyed a life filled with the passion for racing and metal fabrication. His forty years of knowledge of both has developed a friendship and working environment with builders and drivers throughout the years. John as done metal fabrication work on numerous occasions for Indy car builder A.J. Watson. He has fielded various U.S.A.C. race cars for such drivers as Brian Tyer, Doug Kalita, Steve Perr, Johnny Heydenreich, and Nelson Stewart, father of Tony Stewart. John's passion continues to drive him in the building and fabrication world today. His present projects include designing and building custom street cars along with race car restorations.
