Old Navy Trucks: Here is what I've learned

There is currently a total of 8 former Old Navy display trucks for auction on eBay. I called and spoke to a manager of the Old Navy in our local mall to find out what they knew. According to the store manager, all of the trucks are supposed to be removed from all stores by the end of next week. She told me that the truck in our local store is currently in the back, but it is scheduled for pickup on Monday, February 11th.

I asked about purchasing the local truck, and I was told that individual stores can not sell the trucks. Corporate office has hired a company to sell the trucks. She did say that they were instructed to take the names of interested individuals, as they anticipate some trucks being left over. I asked her if all Old Navy stores had the trucks. She told me that the newer stores didn't, but of the some 900 stores, over 600 of them had the trucks. That means there will be 600+ trucks that will be appearing on eBay and at swap meets, etc. in the coming year.

She took my name and phone number and said that she would pass it on to the Corporate Office.

It seems apparent looking at some of the trucks that are currently for auction that guys are buying them up and trying to resell them on eBay. One picture currently on eBay shows another truck in the background. The description below was taken from a current auction in Missouri. Notice the seller says "We have many styles to choose from that are 1/2 and 3/4 ton".

You are looking at a 1947 thru 1954 Chevy pickup truck. We are not sure of the trucks exact year. This truck has been used as a display truck in a indoor retail store. This truck does not have motor, transmision, wiring, gas tank, pedals, brakes. Truck is being sold as is. This truck would make a great parts truck or restore to your needs. We have many styles to choose from that are 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton. The truck in this picture is the truck you are bidding on. The winning bidder will be provided with a Bill Of Sale. The overall condition of the body on this truck is very good. Hood has small dent in top area. Normal nicks dings and dents. This truck has new parts such as front grill, Chevy hood emblem, Chrome hub caps, Chrome front bumper, head light bezels and Chrome rear bumper. Glass appears to be new and in very good condition. Frame of truck is original and in good condition. Parts on this truck are well over $1200.00. Please e-mail for any additional info on this truck or others we will have up for auction at no Reserve. You can call Tim 636/262-6671 for further info.
Truck are for sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction early.
