My father had a 1964 Plymouth Sport Fury. This Belvedere is a very similar body style.

This roadster had an interesting engine. At first glance it appears it may be a flathead, but notice how the exhaust manifold exits from the top of the block. After talking with the owner, we learned it is from an early Cadillac.

I really like the look of a wide whitewall, black rim, and chrome spyder hubcap with chrome lugnuts.
I'm a traditionalist when it comes to Corvettes. I don't think you should do ANY body modifications. As you can imagine, I'm not real "keen" on the headlight mods on this pearl white Corvette.

I thought I had taken a picture of the tail lights of this Thunderbird. This thing had a lot of modifications. Check out the grille teeth! This car had Edsel tail lights!

Sometimes body modifications can be very sutle (custom tail lights, gas flap, etc.), but can make a big difference in the overall look of the car.

This Rat Finker was a bit sticker shocked at the asking price of this Camaro SS.

There were about a 1/2 dozen Cobras at the event.

Well, by late-afternoon, I was feeling a bit hungry again. We walked up to another vendor that had been selling cheeseburgers and hotdogs, and found that they were running specials to get rid of their "inventory". Once again, I thought..."Cool, two dogs for a buck, I'll get a deal for my son and I." When I told the vendor "2 hot dogs please", my son said, "Dad, what are you going to get for yourself?" (too funny!) Well, I ended up buying 4 dogs.

As the evening approached, all three of us began it get tired. I think it was a combination of walking around all day and the heat from the sun. We talked of taking off and heading for home early, but we wanted to stick around to see if we would be lucky and win a custom powder coated tool chest.

I've seen this Ford Tudor around last year. Check out the bullet holes in the hubcap on the spare! It also has some real bullet holes around the rear window....but they are shot FROM THE INSIDE?!?! Sounds like a very unhappy backseat driver to me!

Well, as I've said in yesterday's post, I took A LOT of pictures at the Aesthetic Finishers 2008 Open House/Customer Appreciation Day in Piqua, Ohio. I haven't heard the final numbers, but I would guess that the total number of vehicles at this year's event was similar to last year in which they had over 1800 cars.

I've been seeing more and more early VW bugs at shows. This one has a ragtop just like Herbie!
