Suede and Chrome Social Network

Well, now that summer is in full swing, I've finally had some time to work on a project I started earlier in the year. The Suede and Chrome Social Network link (find a link in the left column of this blog) was been "officially" up since April 2009. A few readers have found the site and joined. I feel a little bad that while the site has been up since April, there hasn't really been much new content.

Well that's about to change. I'm excited to announce that I've been working on the site over the past few days and I think readers will find items that should make it really kool. The idea behind the site is to make it much more interactive than this blog. Over the past 5 years, I've added several hundred posts and lots of links to this blog. I've shared with readers the things that I think are interesting and kool. I've carried my camera and/or camera phone with me as I've traveled the midwestern United States to car shows and cruise-ins. Heck, I've even shared some pictures of things I've seen on family trips and vacations. While this has been very enjoyable, it hasn't really broadened my "understanding" of "what is kool". What I'd really like to know is what readers think is kool. This new site is like Hubgarage and Facebook. It's a place where ideas, pictures, music, etc. can be shared.



So why join ANOTHER social network? Well, this place is OURS! It's like that kool little out of the way restaurant that not a lot of people know about. If you've been a member of the Hub for very long, you know what originally it had that feel....but as it has grown, it's gotten a bit out of hand.



I would love for regular readers of this blog to join the Suede and Chrome Social Network and become regular contributors. I would love to learn what each of you find "kool" in your neck of the woods. I know LOTS of readers are from outside the midwestern United States, and MANY are from ALL parts of the world. The kool thing about this new site is that it allows everyone who is registered to share music, photos, and kulture from their own perspective.....SO GO AHEAD, sign up and enlighten the rest of us.



The only thing I ask is that everyone who joins understands that I want to keep a "G" rating on the site. There are plenty of other sites on the Internet for those who want to share things that I would rather not have on this site. A simple rule is "Don't upload anything that you wouldn't want your mama to see or hear."
